  • Who: Real-time disciplines
  • What: In-situ = on-site, locally, in place, collected in the same place and time as the phenomenon is occurring without isolating it from other systems. So much of our work centers around in-situ data collection. No matter your discipline, in-situ and drones (or UAS/UAV) means data captured under present field conditions whether for scientific purposes, search and rescue, or any real-time application.
  • Where:  Outside on land, in the water and in the air.
  • When: Some sensors allow flights at night and generally flights are in good weather outside, with winds less than 25 miles per hour, flying under 400 feet agl. You’ll fly with different sensors in different light conditions. In water you may have more choices whether mapping a lake or taking water quality samples, or even taking video of underwater avalanches, finding shipwrecks, mapping the bottom of lakes, finding underwater gas leaks, and more.
  • Why: Because you can’t economically get to those areas, whether line of site or beyond line of site.
  • How: By defining the problem, we can define the sensor you need to collect the right data to affect solutions.

While these names are similar, there is room in the industry for more than one. Once you pick your site name, a similar site name will not be sold in the same geographic area without your being notified and given first right of refusal.
